Georgetown College men reclaimed the McDonald's-Central Bank Jim Reid Classic in convincing style.
The Tigers (6-0) opened up a lead midway through the first half and never looked back in a 87-54 win over Texas College (1-3).
Maurice Pearson and Georgetown native and Scott County standout Rodney Haddix led with a double-doubles, 15 points and 13 rebounds 14 points 12 rebounds respectively. Louisville native Vincent Crutcher also had 14 points. San Diego State transfer Tyrone Shelley was a point and rebound shy of a double-double with 9 and 9. Richmond native and Madison Central star Aaron Morris came off the bench for 11 rebounds and eight points.
Georgetown has won 16 of the 17 titles in a tournament in honor of former Tiger player and coach Jim Reid. The only time GC didn't advance to the finals was last year when Life University beat the Tigers in a close game in the opening round.
Georgetown returns to action 2 p.m. Sunday again taking on Texas College.
