Georgetown College women's basketball team came out strong and imposed its will on NAIA Division II No. 2 Davenport, but could not hang on down the stretch.

The Tigers (4-3) had a 29-24 halftime edge, but the Panthers showed why they are 7-0 right now and were coming off a big win over NAIA Division I No. 12 University of the Cumberlands on Friday night.

DU finished the McDonald's-Central Bank Jim Reid Classic with a 76-68 win despite the efforts of Jessica Waddle, 16 points, and Mikkah Rogers, 11 points.

The Tigers hit the road for the first time Tuesday playing at Northern Kentucky University.
