CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - An 8-0 run to start the second half blew open a one-point game as Georgetown College men's basketball team rolled to its 10th straight win and 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference Saturday in Campbellsville.
The GC Tigers had a big second half for an 80-61 victory against their archrival.
CU was hot from deep in the first half, helping to keep them in the game 34-33 heading into the locker room. But GC's Eddie Gray found his touch for several three-pointers in the second half.
The senior point guard was 3-of-4 from deep in the last 20 minutes and 4-of-6 for the game. He had a game-high 22 points. Maurice Pearson also got things rolling offensively as he chipped in 16 points. Tyrone Shelley paced GC on the boards with six rebounds
CU's Shawn Savage was 3-of-6 from three-point range and had 13 points, while Caleb Harris led Campbellsville with 19 points.
GC returns to action 7:30 p.m. Monday against Brescia.
