Life University has had No. 3 Georgetown College men's basketball's number the past several meetings, and despite being unbeaten heading into Wednesday's game the Tigers (15-1, 4-0 Mid-South Conference) suffered a similar fate at the hands of the Running Eagles (8-7).

GC took its first loss, 103-96, in Georgia, the fourth straight defeat to Life. James Hooper, 27 points and seven rebounds, Tony Reese, 27 points and seven assists, and PJ Meyers, 20 points, led the offensive attack against the Tigers.

Maurice Pearson's 18 points and Tyrone Shelley's 17 points and nine rebounds led Georgetown in the team's final game outside the conference.

The Running Eagles scored 39 points from the free throw line, going 39-of-45 from the stripe. The Tigers had their opportunities at the line as well, going 37-of-53.

GC returns to action 4 p.m. Saturday at Shawnee State (4-10, 0-4).
