Women's Basketball - Sat, Jan. 22, 2011

Devon Golden played her best game since coming to Georgetown College, but it was not enough as the Tigers (6-14, 2-7 Mid-South Conference) remain winless on the road.

The women's basketball team lost in overtime to West Virginia Tech (4-16, 1-8) Saturday in Montgomery, 97-92.

Golden scored 23 points, shooting 50 percent from the field, 6-of-12 including 66 percent from three point range (4-of-6). The sophomore also went 7-of-10 from the free throw line.

Georgetown used an 18-6 run in the final 3:30 of the first half to take a five-point edge into the break. However, the Golden Bears would not go away. They clawed back and forced overtime to pick up their first conference win.

Three other Tigers recorded double-digits in the loss. Kourtney Tyra finished with 17, Lizza Jonas 14 and Mikkah Rogers 11. This is the eighth-straight loss for Georgetown, which comes home to face St. Catharine Thursday and No. 3 Campbellsville University Saturday.
