Georgetown College women's basketball battled and ended the skid Thursday night over Mid-South Conference foe St. Catharine in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
The Tigers (7-14, 3-7 MSC) had dropped eight straight dating back to Dec. 29 game in California. In that stretch GC played six teams in or receiving votes for the Top 25.
But, behind a balanced attack and a dominance on the boards (53-29), Georgetown won 81-64.
Kourtney Tyra led with 15 points, while Mikkah Rogers and Mandi Boykin added 11 and Ashley Prince had her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
SCC (8-14, 3-7) was led by Courtney Milam's 20 points, while Carol-Ruiz Lopez added 13.
GC returns home to face archrival and No. 3 Campbellsville University Saturday.
