Men's Tennis - Wed, Feb. 16, 2011
Benjamin Aspillaga notched Georgetown College men's tennis team's first win this season this past weekend in straight sets over Morehead State University's Justin Harlow.
Aspillaga won 6-2, 6-3 over his NCAA Division I opponent. All the other Tigers at least took four games off of their Eagle opponent.
"I saw a lot of improvement in the men's team from the last match to this one," said GC coach Lane Orttenburger."Benji came out of this match with a good win. He played a very smart match and did what was necessary to get the victory. He also kept his cool despite a very hostile crowd. I was very proud of his performance."
GC's Justin Harris and Zach Thomas gave Hugo Almonte and Chris Shafik a scare in an 8-6 battle. The other two doubles teams won at least one game in their matches.
