Women's Tennis - Wed, Feb. 16, 2011
Adrienne Bartlett challenged another NCAA Division I opponent this past weekend when she lost 7-5, 6-4 to Morehead State University's Alix Young. She led the second set 4-1 before Young was able to find a rhythm and finish the match in straight sets.
First-year coach Lane Orttenburger's young women's tennis team battled hard, taking six games in the other five singles' matches.
"The women were up against a tough, veteran Morehead State team," Orttenburger said. "They did their best in a very difficult environment. Adrienne again had a very close match in both her singles and doubles. I'm excited to see what she can do once we are able to get on the court every day."
Bartlett and Haley Hart gave Madi Antero and Lauren Delaney a run with an 8-7 loss and Natalie Hill and Emily Krick took a game off the No. 2 doubles' team of Jessica Montemayor and Victoria Cran.
Georgetown College returns to action Friday against Bellarmine.
