Georgetown College men's and women's basketball teams picked up important road wins Thursday in the Mid-South Conference.

For the women it is the Tigers (10-16, 6-9 MSC) second road win of the season and third straight win. The victory over University of the Cumberlands (15-12, 9-6) coupled with a loss by Pikeville (17-10, 7-9) keeps Georgetown's shot at a No. 6 finish in the conference alive. GC trailed at the half, but came out on top 79-71.

The No. 8 men's team put themselves in the driver's seat for another conference title and a No. 1 seed for the tournament in Frankfort in two weeks. The Tigers (24-3, 13-2) gave themselves a two-game cushion over their closets competitors with three games left by beating UC, 78-71, in Williamsburg.

Both Tiger teams will play on the road Saturday at Lindsey Wilson. Women tip off at 3 p.m. and the men follow at 5 p.m. Times are Eastern Standard.
