Georgetown College men's basketball team wrapped up no worse than a tie for the regular season Mid-South Conference title and assured itself a one seed in the upcoming tournament Thursday with a win over University of Rio Grande, 87-69.
The Tigers (25-4, 14-3 MSC) can only be reached by St. Catharine, which beat University of the Cumberlands Thursday, but GC swept the SCC in the regular season for the tiebreaker.
Eleven Tigers tallied points, led by Maurice Pearson's 14 points, Eddie Gray's 13 and Rodney Haddix's 10.
The RedStorm (5-24, 0-17) were led by Kaleb Kimber's 15 points and Doug Campbells' 10.
Georgetown returns to action Saturday against West Virginia Tech with a 4 p.m. tip on Senior Day.
