Men's Basketball - Sat, Feb. 26, 2011

A 14-0 run to close out the half gave No. 9 Georgetown College the momentum to roll 90-60 on Senior Day against West Virginia Tech.

The Tigers (26-4, 15-3 Mid-South Conference) honored Eddie Gray, Matt Walls, Dillon Boggs, Rodney Haddix and Vincent Crutcher with a pre-game celebration and the big win, which gave them the conference regular season title outright. They head to Frankfort next Friday to start the defense of their tournament title.

GC's opponent for the quarterfinals is unknown; it will play the lowest seed following the play-in games Monday. WVT (14-14, 8-10) will definitely host, while Shawnee State (8-20, 4-14) is waiting to see if it or UVA-Wise (10-16, 4-13) will host. University of Rio Grande (5-25, 0-18), is the 10th seed and definitely be on the road at WVT. Wise does not play until 8 p.m. tonight against Pikeville.

Four Tigers tallied double figures led by juniors Tyrone Shelley and Vic Moses 19 points each. Maurice Pearson chipped in with 17 points and Eddie Gray recorded 11 points in his final game at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

Josh Proctor led the Golden Bears with 14 points.
