The Tigers struck early and often, which was good Wednesday as a storm rolling in threatened to ruin the day at Midway College.

Georgetown College's softball team scored seven times in the first three innings and won a five-inning mercy-rule game, 10-0. The second game was washed out by the impending storm. The win runs the Tigers record to 15-8 and 8-0 in Mid-South Conference.

GC had 14 hits, led by Mallory Johnson, Whitney Ealey, Rachel Johnson, Katie Mann and Chelsea Riney. Mallory had three hits and the rest had two each. The younger Johnson sister also had four RBI and scored two runs.

Ealey had two RBI and scored a run, while Rachel Johnson scored twice. Riney scored once and Michelle Dresselhaus made the most of her one hit with two RBI and a run scored. Madelyn Brown and Taylor Shaw also scored a run each.

Dresselhaus picked up the win in the circle, striking out 11 of the 15 batters she faced. She gave up no hits and walked one on the day.
