Baseball and softball coaches polls came out for the first time since the preseason fall ratings and both Georgetown teams were among teams receiving votes.

Softball was receiving votes in the preseason poll and a 17-8 overall record and 10-0 in the Mid-South Conference kept the team in the same spot. As a team, the Tigers are currently ranked in the top 25 nationally in three statistical categories - No. 10 stolen bases per game (2.609), No. 11 stolen bases attempted per game (3.043) and No. 13 total bases stolen (60). They pitching staff is No. 32 in strikeouts per game with a 5.826 per game and No. 45 in total strikeouts with 134.

Individually, Georgetown has several players in the national rankings. Rachel Johnson is No. 10 in total steal attempts with 21 and No. 11 in steal attempts per game with 0.913. Of her 21 attempts, she has safely reached 18 times, which is No. 12 nationally. She ranks No. 13 in stolen bases per game with 0.783. The senior is also No. 38 in runs scored per game with 1.087, her sister Mallory, who bats right behind Rachel, is 49th in the nation in runs batted in at 1.087. Rachel is also 50th in at bats per game with 3.478.

Fellow senior Whitney Ealey is No. 41 in steal attempts with 14 and No. 43 in steal attempts per game with 0.609.

Junior Michelle Dresselhaus is No. 23 in batters struck out per nine with 11.2.

The Baseball Tigers earned votes after a 20-16 start including 10-6 in the MSC.

GC ranks nationally in seven statistical categories - No. 17 in total assists (340), No. 25 in total triples (9), No. 27 in total putouts (783), No. 27 in total innings pitched (261.000), No. 27 in total batters struck out (209), No. 29 in total at bats (1,014) and No. 48 in triples per game (0.250).

Individually, the Tigers are ranked nationally in multiple defensive categories.

Tyler Fisher is No. 1 in fielding percentage at 1.000. On the mound, K.C. Massie is ranked in wins, No. 13 with six; ERA, No. 33 at 1.580; innings pitched per game, No. 34 with 6.417; and in total innings pitched, No. 37 with 51.100.

Other pitchers in the rankings include closer Chad Richie is ranked No. 17 in saves with five. Junior Jason McGinnis is No. 28 in innings pitched with 52.000 and No. 30 in innings pitched per game with 6.500. Chase Ballinger rounds out the pitchers with a No. 47 in ERA with 1.000.

Tanner Baldwin is No. 14 in total assists with 98 and No. 29 in assists per game with 2.882.

Senior Cameron Allen is the lone Tiger ranked for his offense. The Berea native ranks No. 31 in total triples with three.
