The Baseball Tigers entered a weekend series with St. Catharine College, looking to roll of a mid-week win over Miami University Hamilton. The two Mid-South Conference West Divisional teams were tied with a 10-10 record in the standings for the important third seed. The two and three seeds from each division host a weekend series to start the postseason in two weeks.

Georgetown and the Patriots showed how close the race would be Friday, splitting a pair by a run each game. SCC took the opener 5-4 after hanging four runs in the top of the fourth and hanging on as the Tigers tried to rally. Game two saw the Patriots also jump out to a quick lead 3-0, but a pair of Tiger runs late made it 3-2 heading into GC's last at bat.

Senior Pete Thackston dug in with one on and one out and blasted a walk-off, two-run homerun to pull the series even at 1-1.

The rains came and washed away the second day of action Saturday. The two teams will meet on GC's Senior Day Sunday. First pitch set for 1 p.m.
