Softball - Sat, Apr. 23, 2011

Softball games have been cancelled for Saturday. The final home games for the Tigers were washed out as the storms rolled through Friday evening and early Saturday morning.

Georgetown was set to play its final Mid-South Conference games against University of the Cumberlands. The doubleheader would not have affected the final conference standings as the Tigers head into next week's tournament as the second seed from the West. They will open play 11:30 a.m. Friday against the No. 3 seed from the East, which is still to be determined.

It is between Shawnee State and University of Virginia College at Wise. SSU plays divisional leader University of Rio Grande Saturday. If the Golden Bears win both the two teams would be tied with a 14-12 conference record. However, if the RedStorm take both, SSU falls to 12-12. Wise currently sits at 11-11 and has a doubleheader Saturday with West Virginia Tech, which is 2-22 in conference play. If the Cavaliers take two from the Bears, they would finish 13-11.

GC was also scheduled for a non-conference doubleheader on the road Monday, but those games have been cancelled as well.
