Christian Heavens came up one stroke short Tuesday afternoon in the third round as University of the Cumberlands' Pierre Carlsson came back from a four-shot deficit to win the 2011 individual Mid-South Conference Tournament title.
The senior shot a three round score of 226, 10-over par, while Carlsson shot par in the final round for a 225.
As a team, the Tigers finished fourth with a 947 behind Cumberlands (901), Lindsey Wilson (937) and Campbellsville (946). GC and CU see-sawed back and forth each round for third and fourth place. CU led by five strokes after the first round, but GC came back for an eight-shot lead heading into round three.
Drew Hockensmith's 233 and J.T. Ross' 242 were the only other two Tigers finishing inside the Top 20. Hockensmith finished solely in eighth, while Ross tied for 16th.
