The Baseball Tigers (29-24) failed to get any offense going, getting just one hit, in a 1-0 loss Friday in the first game of a double-elimination Mid-South Conference Tournament.

University of Virginia College at Wise (18-20) got five hits off K.C. Massie, who struck out 11 batters and walked just two in eight innings of work. But the Cavaliers pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the third with three of their five hits.

GC started the top of the eighth with a double, but failed to bring the run around to tie the game.

The Tigers enter the loser's bracket Saturday with a 1 p.m. game against the loser of the night cap game between top-seed Campbellsville University and sixth-seed St. Catharine College.
