Georgetown College's volleyball and women's basketball
team earned NAIA team scholar awards recently. A record 934 teams earned a
collective 3.0 grade point average or higher this year, besting this past
year's mark of 857.
The Tiger women's basketball team was two-hundredths of a
point from being in the top 12 percent of schools that earned a 3.5. GC had a
3.48, a conference tying-high eight academic honorees and four national scholar
The basketball team also recently received the WBCA honor
of being in the top 10 for women's basketball programs and only one of two
Mid-South Conference teams on the list.
It was the second time the team made the NAIA Scholar
Volleyball's 3.25 GPA was supported by eight MSC
All-Academic honorees and two NAIA Scholar Athletes, the most in either
category for the conference.
This is the second time on the NAIA academic team list
for the volleyball Tigers.
