Georgetown College's volleyball team's on-court success
is often well documented. But, these ladies have been excelling
in the classroom as well.
The 2010 team was named NAIA Scholar Team earlier this
summer and recently received the same honor from the AVCA.
Scholastic achievement is nothing new for GC volleyball. Since
1989, the Tigers have had 35 NAIA Scholar Athletes - and 11 of those years they
had two or more honorees.
In a six year span, 1988-1993, the Tigers had 20 NAIA
District 32 Scholar Athletes and never had less than two in that time. The last
two seasons in the KIAC, GC had six all-academic honorees - three a season; and
since joining the Mid-South Conference in 1996 the Tigers have had 50
all-conference academic athletes, including a conference high eight this past
