Preseason accolades are always nice - they boast the success of a program and what others think of it - but Georgetown College football coach Bill Cronin is focused on what happens between the lines during the season.

For 14 years it has been a lot of victories. During Cronin's tenure as head coach, the Tigers have won 9.5 games per season, two national titles, 10 Mid-South Conference Championships and reached the postseason 10 times. Of those 10 seasons of extended play, GC has advanced to seven quarterfinals, five final fours and four national championship games. In that time, Cronin has compiled a 133-34 record as a head coach, a mark which the NAIA recently released as the fifth best among active coaches.

His win percentage of .796 is second.

He has refined the GC team into one of the elite programs in the country. In his first 9 seasons-plus, the Tigers won 100 games, making him one of the fastest coaches to achieve such a feat and putting him in good company with coaches such as Steve Spurrier.

The Indiana native has been NAIA Coach of the Year five times, coaching 29 NAIA All-Americans and 53 NAIA All-American Scholar athletes.

Cronin is not the only Tiger coach on the win list. Kevin Donley led the Tigers from 1982-1992, five of those years assisted by Cronin. He notched a 75-33-1 mark, leading Georgetown to its first national title in 1991. He still coaches today at St. Francis in Indiana and has an all-time record of 246-114-1, to be second in wins.
