Georgetown College women's soccer is sitting in third in the Mid-South Conference preseason poll. The Tigers edged Campbellsville University this past regular season for the No. 2 spot in postseason and advanced to their second straight conference tournament finals.
In the preseason poll released earlier this week, national power Lindsey Wilson was picked first, garnering six of the eight first place votes. CU was second with one first place vote and GC was third, also with one first place vote.
Georgetown received 36 points in the early standings that conference coaches vote on, while Campbellsville received 42.
GC opens action on the road at the end of August against Milligan College. It follows that with another road game against Union College, before being the first Tiger fall team to open at home on Sept. 6 against Trevecca Nazarene.
This season, Georgetown has eight home games with 10 on the road.
