Georgetown College volleyball is playing host this
weekend to Concordia University, Grace College, Montreat College, Shorter
University and Union College in the 3rd Annual Rumpke Invitational.
The Tigers (3-6) opened the tournament against
Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat, winning in straight games, 25-18,
25-16, 25-22, for the second time this week.
Freshman Allyson Wilbourn accounted for almost a quarter
of the kills, putting down 10 of the teams 44. Fellow newbies Rachel Eubanks
and Caraline Maher tallied eight and six kills respectively, while sophomore
Kathryn Smith had seven. Seniors Alyssa Elmore and Liz Goodin had seven and
five kills, while juniors Rebekah Moore contributed one.
Goodin also had 32 assists, 15 digs and one service ace.
Stephanie Gurren led in aces with two.
Georgetown plays the final match of the night against
Concordia University, which played the second match of the day in Davis-Reid
Alumni Gym against Montreat.
