Georgetown College and Lindsey Wilson College had a volleyball battle of Mid-South Conference East divisional opponents. LWC (13-1, 2-1 MSC) dropped just one game on its way to a 25-20, 15-25, 25-22, 25-23 win at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym Thursday evening.

The Tigers (7-7, 2-1 MSC) came out on fire in game two, but had to battle back in three and four, coming up just short in each. GC trailed 22-14 in the third when Nick Griffin took his second time out. The team came out and pulled within 22-18, forcing the Blue Raiders into a time out.

The teams traded side outs before LWC pulled off the 25-22 win. Game four was back and forth when Lindsey grabbed a small advantage late, 22-19. The Tigers came back and eventually tied it at 23 with the serve.

The Blue Raiders got the side out and the last rally point for the match just hit inside the service line.

Rachel Eubanks led the match with 15 kills, while teammate Allyson Wilbourn had 14. LWC's Kirsten King and Taylor Hayne had 14 kills each. GC's Liz Goodin had 49 assists, while Lindsey's Andrea Taylor had 47. Lindsey Wise (23), Rebekah Moore (11) and Kelsey Luckett (10) led the Tigers with double-digit digs, while Rachael Anderson (22), Sarah Anderson (10) and Hayne (10) led the Blue Raiders.

Georgetown has its first weekend off from matches and returns to action next 7 pm Tuesday hosting Campbellsville.
