Georgetown College's volleyball team hits the road and comes up with a big season-ending, conference win against Campbellsville University Tuesday. GC won 19-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-18, 15-13.
"It was a good exclamation point to the end of the season," said GC coach Nick Griffin. "It should be a good push into postseason play for us."
Georgetown heads to Frankfort this weekend for the MSC tournament, looking for its 12th title in 13 years.
The Tigers (18-16, 9-3) are the No. 3 seed and open noon Saturday against Shawnee State (11-25, 5-6) in the quarterfinals.
With a win there, GC would then advance to the 6 pm semifinal match between the Campbellsville-St. Catharine winner. The finals are set for 2 pm Sunday.
Maher earned MSC Hitter of the Week this past week for her double-digit kill margin over the four matches in the Boneyard Brawl. Liz Goodin, had eight kills and 43 assists Tuesday, was the MSC Setter of the Week.
