Neal Pawsat had a break out day Saturday, throwing for
415 yards and six touchdowns against Lindsey Wilson College. For those efforts,
the freshman earned the first Mid-South Conference Player of the Week award for
No. 3 Georgetown College and was recently named to the Beyond Sports Network
Athlete of the Week team.
The Maysville native stepped into the starting role five games
ago. Senior preseason All-American Kaelin Ammons went down in the Tigers (9-0)
win over Shorter University on Homecoming. Junior Cameron Smyth stepped in at
the start of the next game against Kentucky Christian. However, Pawsat got his
opportunity two series into that game and has never relinquished the position.
In six games, the rookie has thrown for 1,575, 17
touchdowns on 107-of-168 attempts. He has only thrown two interceptions and has
an efficiency rating of 173.5
