Women's Basketball - Sat, Nov. 12, 2011
Georgetown College led all but a few minutes; unfortunately it was the wrong ones. Xavier University Louisiana handed the women's basketball team (4-1) its first loss, 79-76.

Of the 40 minute game, GC women's basketball team trailed the Golden Nuggets (3-1) eight minutes, six of which were in the first half. But when Kendra Hall made her and one on the traditional three-point play, XULA never trailed again.

Andrea Howard led the scoring charge for GC once again with 19 points, followed by 18 from Mikkah Rogers, 17 from Jessica Waddle and 10 from Devon Golden. Golden also added 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The teams were fairly even and had seven ties in the final game of the inaugural Chick-fil-A Classic.

The Tigers return to action 6 pm Thursday at Asbury playing Tennessee Wesleyan.

In the first game of the day, Indiana Wesleyan opened a large lead and were never threatened in the 97-43 win.
