Freshman Angie Lawrence provided a spark off the bench as the Georgetown College women's basketball team beat University of Pikeville, 86-66, Saturday in Pikeville.
The Tigers (6-1, 1-0 Mid-South Conference) had five double-figure scorers, led by the Mount Vernon native's 16 points. Devanny King contributed 15 points, Devon Golden 13, Andrea Howard 11 and Gina Beining 10. Howard also grabbed 11 rebounds for another double-double this season.
Georgetown forced 15 turnovers with 11 steals and took the early conference victory over the Bears (1-3, 0-1). UPike was led by Nicole Lyons' 12 points. Whitney Jackson score 11 and Brogan Conley had 10.
The Tigers stay on the road for another conference match-up Monday at University of Virginia College at Wise.
