The mission of the Georgetown College Athletic Training Department is to provide complete health care for all student-athletes. Our athletic training facilities contain state-of-the-art equipment used to prevent, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries.

The sports medicine team at Georgetown College is dedicated to the success and well-being of each student-athlete and consists of three full-time certified athletic trainers and team physicians specializing in athletic injuries.

Dr. Tim Wilson
Georgetown Community Hospital

Dr. Wilson, a Georgetown College alumnus, received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He also completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky. Following his fellowship, Dr. Wilson remained at UK as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and team physician for the University of Kentucky Women's Basketball and Olympic sports teams. He also served as team physician for Morehead State University Athletics, Georgetown College Athletics, and the Lexington Horsemen Arena Football team. His special interests include shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery.

Tips to Facilitate Care of Your Son/Daughter:

• Thoroughly complete a new Parent/Athlete Information Form every summer.
• Thoroughly complete Insurance Questionnaire
  
• If there are changes in your primary insurance carrier, home address, etc., notify the Insurance Coordinator at Georgetown College immediately
• Contact your primary insurance company prior to your child attending college with regards to coverage; some require a letter from the Registrar's Office in order to continue coverage, while others provide no out-of-area or out-of-state coverage. (A few companies will allow you to request coverage in Scott County/Georgetown to be covered.)
• Always follow the guidelines of your primary insurance.
• If you do not have primary insurance for your son/daughter, try to obtain some
• If your son/daughter does see a doctor due to an injury, be sure to send the bill and EOB to the Insurance Coordinator at the College upon receiving them.
• Remember that coverage is not guaranteed until all paperwork has been filed and approved by our insurance company
