Georgetown College men's and women's tennis wrapped up the season this past week in Bowling Green in the Mid-South Conference tournament. Part of the week was the awards banquet during with several Tigers were honored.

A pair of freshmen led the women's team in postseason accolades by earning second-team all-conference. These teams have 10 members each and are voted on by all the coaches in the league with coaches unable to vote for their own players.

Natalie Fiepke and Shae Henry were the two Tigers on the 10-athlete second team. Fiepke finished 10-2 in singles and 9-4 in doubles this spring. She helped her team with big wins in both categories in an upset win to start the MSC tournament.

Women's Tennis - Fri, Apr. 24, 2015

Georgetown College women's tennis got a rematch with University of the Cumberlands. This time it was when it all counts and the Tigers walked away with the 5-4 win.

"It was a great match," said GC coach Jessica Cunningham. "We felt earlier in the season we let it slip through our fingers, but here at the (Mid-South Conference) tournament we got it done."

The Patriots took an early 2-1 lead in doubles with Alyssa Kennedy and Natalie Fiepke the lone point for Georgetown. The duo rolled 8-3 to keep the Tigers in the hunt.

 
Women's Tennis - Thu, Apr. 2, 2015

Georgetown College women's tennis rolled through Mid-South Conference foe Shawnee State University to improve to 3-2 in conference play and 8-4 overall.

The Tigers dropped just one match in the 8-1 victory Wednesday at Lackey Tennis Center. Doubles got it off to a solid start as all three teams won and just dropped four total games.

Kelly Swanson and Shae Henry won 8-1. Natalie Fiepke and Jacqueline Otis won 8-3. Kaelin Roberts and Emily Novak blanked their opponent for an 8-0 victory.

 
Women's Tennis - Tue, Mar. 31, 2015

Georgetown College women's tennis wrapped up a three-match conference road trip with a Monday afternoon showdown with No. 4 Lindsey Wilson College. The Tigers, receiving votes in the national poll, battled in every match but lost 8-1. GC is now 2-2 in league play and will host Shawnee State University 4 pm Wednesday.

Freshman Natalie Fiepke was the bright spot winning in straight sets at singles' six-position. She won 6-4, 6-4 over Diana Gerlakh.

 
Women's Tennis - Sun, Mar. 29, 2015

Georgetown College women's tennis got back to its winning ways Saturday with an 8-1 victory over Mid-South Conference foe University of Pikeville. The Tigers are now 2-1 in league play.

Coach Jessica Cunningham was able to experiment with her line-up on the road. She paired Kelly Swanson and Shae Henry at the one double spot for an 8-5. Alyssa Kennedy and Natalie Fiepke moved from three doubles to two and improved to 5-1 on the season together.

Kaelin Roberts joined with Jacqueline Otis at the third spot and won by default, keeping Otis perfect on the season.
