Georgetown College football begins 2014 NAIA Football Championship Series First Round play on the road Saturday. The No. 10 Tigers (8-2) travel to Marian University in Indianapolis, Ind. in this first-ever meeting with the No. 7 Knights (8-2). Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students with their IDs.

For the fourth time in five seasons a Georgetown College defender headlines the Mid-South Conference East Division Defensive Team. Senior Nick Seither has been named the MSC East Defensive Player of the Year announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.
Seither tied for the conference lead with 16 tackles for a loss. His eight sacks are third in the East and fifth overall in the Mid-South. He ranked in the Top 20 in the NAIA in both categories – 18th in sacks and 19th in tackles for a loss.
Seither anchored the Tiger defense during the season, a unit that allowed just 17.9 points per outing – second in the MSC and 11th in the NAIA. Seither helped the No. 10 Tigers to an 8-2 mark and a fifth straight berth into the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Fans looking to make the trip to Indianapolis on Saturday for the 1 pm kickoff of the 2014 NAIA Football Championship Series First Round can purchase tickets through host Marian University.
The Knights are selling tickets for $15 through this online option - tickets. Students with an ID can purchase tickets at the gate for $5. Gates will open 90 minutes before kickoff (11:30 am) and the tailgating area will be open at 10 am.
Georgetown College football team enters the NAIA Football Championship series for the 20th time, just two behind leader Carroll College. Under Bill Cronin the No. 10 Tigers (8-2) have made the postseason 14 times and are 21-11 with two national titles and two runner-up finishes.
GC (3) is only one of three teams in this year's 16-team tournament with multiple crowns – Carroll (6) and Northwestern (2).
Sunday afternoon the Tigers learned they would be on the road with a final coaches' poll ranking of 10 and in the evening learned they face Marian University out of Indianapolis, Ind. this Saturday. It is the first meeting with the No. 7 Knights. Game time is slated for 1 pm at St. Vincent Health Field.
