Tigers Take Two of Three Off Night Hawks
THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Georgetown College baseball team (5-4) played its first true road series against Thomas University at Varnedoe Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
Thomas took down Georgetown in the opener, 11-0, on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, Georgetown won game 13-5 and took the finale 9-4 to wrap up the three-game set.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
A total of three hits were collected by the Tigers, who fell 11-0 in the opener. Georgetown had a hit in the first and two in the sixth as the Night Hawks scored eight runs in the second inning to secure the victory. Thomas added one run in the third, fourth, and sixth to push things to 11-0, which eventually shortened the series opener to seven innings.

* Davis Johnson went 1-2 with a walk.
* Aidan Jbara was 1-3.
* Elijah Verge went 1-3 with a walk.
* Chris Lenocker (1-1) went 3.0 innings and allowed nine runs in the loss. He gave up 12 hits and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Georgetown's bats got rolling in game two. After an RBI single in the first by Verge, this time it was the Tigers' turn to put up an eight-run second inning. Verge poked home another run in the third with a ball sent to left field, and after the Night Hawks scored two in the second and third innings, the hosts went quiet until the seventh. A single, wild pitch, and an error plated the game's final three runs in the seventh for Georgetown, who went on to win 13-5.

* Davis Johnson was 2-4 with a walk and three runs scored.
* Luis Romero went 1-3 with two walks, two RBIs, and a run scored.
* Elijah Verge was 2-3 with two walks, two RBIs, and a run scored.
* Ashton Deskins (2-0) picked up the win, tossing 4.2 innings of relief, allowing just one earned run off four hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME THREE
The series finale went to the Tigers, who used just two scoring innings to secure the 9-4 win. Thomas plated a run in the first two and last two innings of the game, but it was the Tigers with a six-run fourth inning that was the difference. A two-run single up the middle and a bases-loaded walk brought home three more for the Tigers in the eighth to finish off the scoring.

* Luis Romero went 2-4 with four RBIs.
* Nathan Odaira was 2-5 with a run scored.
* Alec Krogel (1-0) went 6.2 innings, allowing one run off eight scattered hits.
