Bears Close Out Tigers in Ninth
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College baseball team (8-18, 1-5 MSC) took a 6-3 loss to Shawnee State University (17-9, 8-4 RSC) at Robert N. Wilson Field on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A two-out home run pushed the visiting Bears ahead 1-0 in the top of the first. Shawnee State added two more runs in the second with a double to the right field corner that cleared the bases. A bases-loaded walk brought in the Tigers' first run of the day when Julien Mendoza reached via balls. Another home run, this time a solo shot, plated another run for the Bears in the fifth. Mendoza connected for a double to left field in the sixth, making it a 4-3 game when two runs scored on the play. Georgetown allowed two more runs in the ninth and, despite leaving two runners on, fell 6-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
* Julien Mendoza went 1-2 with three RBIs and two walks.
* Ryan Lynch was 1-3 with two runs scored and a walk.
* Zander Smith went 1-2.
* Hideyoshi Kawahara (1-1) started and went 2.0 innings, allowing three runs and three hits in the loss.

The Tigers hit the road in the Mid-South Conference over the weekend against Bethel University (7-16, 1-2 MSC) on Friday, March 27.
