Tigers Complete Sweep of Campbellsville on Senior Day
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College baseball team (12-31, 4-14 MSC) completed a huge three-game sweep of Campbellsville University (25-18, 6-9 MSC) at Robert N. Wilson Field on Friday and Saturday.
Georgetown beat Campbellsville 6-0 in the series opener before the hosts took game two, 7-3.
On Saturday, the series finale went to Georgetown, 5-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
A quiet opening frame set the stage for the Tigers' bats to continue their hot streak. In the bottom of the second, Georgetown scored two runs on back-to-back plays. First, a groundout plated the game's opening run before an Oakland Flodell double to left center made it 2-0 Tigers. Georgetown added another run in the third when Julien Mendoza poked a ball through the right side with one away. Both sides left baserunners on in the fifth before the Tigers added three more runs in the sixth. A throwing error allowed Aidan Jbara to score before an Elijah Verge groundout brought in the next run. Davis Johnson's single up the middle capped the scoring at 6-0 as the Tigers won their second conference game of the season.

* Davis Johnson went 1-3 with an RBI and a walk.
* Alec Krogel (2-5) picked up the win, throwing 5.2 innings, striking out three, allowing just three hits and no runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
After a hitless first inning, the Tigers exploded for a five-run second. All runs scored with two outs as consecutive singles plated runs before a fielding error by the first baseman scored two more. Diondre Jacob singled in the innings' final run with a single through the left side. Another hitless frame in the third made way for the fourth, which saw both teams score a run. Campbellsville connected for a sacrifice fly while the Tigers received an Elijah Verge single to left field to make it a 6-1 game. Campbellsville got two runs back in the top of the fifth with a pair of singles followed by a fielder's choice to make it 6-3 through five complete. The final four innings were empty for Campbellsville despite collecting three hits along the way. Georgetown tacked on an important insurance run in the eighth behind an Oakland Flodell single to right field, making it a 7-3 game.

* Oakland Flodell was 3-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
* Braylon Titler (1-1) picked up the win, tossing 3.0 innings of relief ball, allowing just two hits while striking out one.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME THREE
After the first three batters reached for Campbellsville, starting pitcher Chris Lenocker got out of the inning behind a double play ball with runners on the corners. A leadoff single for Georgetown paid off in the bottom of the first as a fielding error allowed Elijah Verge to score. A double followed a two-run homer in the top of the second for Campbellsville, who did not score the rest of the way. The Tigers used a two-out grand slam off the bat of Elijah Verge to separate, 5-2. From there, four more scoreless innings ensued as the Tigers held on for the 5-2 win and sweep.

* Aidan Jbara was 1-4 with a run scored.
* Chris Lenocker (2-8) picked up the win, tossing 7.0 innings, allowing two runs off eight hits while striking out two.

First pitch with the Grenadiers is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Koetter Sports Baseball Complex. The Grenadiers beat the Tigers 15-1 on March 10 at home.
