No. 17 Tigers Clip Falcons for Seventh Straight Win

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The No. 17 Georgetown College men's basketball team (8-2) closed up the weekend at the Centennial Bank Classic with an 89-71 win over Florida College (3-7) in Crisp Arena on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tigers lacked an offensive rhythm to start, missing their first three shots. In fact, Georgetown played down four points for much of the first part of the half. It wasn't until Zion Harmon's jumper at the 11:53 mark did the Tigers play with their first lead of the game. Both sides traded baskets until Georgetown got some momentum rolling. Down two, a 17-1 run fueled the Tigers to a 37-23 lead with just under four minutes to go in the half. Georgetown took a 46-31 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, the Tigers added 43 points off 45% shooting from the field. Rashad Bishop and Isaiah Mason both scored 11 points in the half to account for half of the offense. Bishop's production came mainly from the foul line, where he was 7-of-7, while Mason was efficient from the floor, sinking 4-of-6 from the field. Leading 58-41, another monumental run, this time a 9-0 spurt, helped the Tigers to their largest lead of the night, 67-44 with 12:35 to play. In the end, the Tigers enjoyed the 89-71 win.

THE TEAM
Georgetown shot 43.1% from the field. The Tigers were 9-27 (33.3%) from deep and shot 18-23 (78.3%) at the free-throw line. GC won the rebounding battle 40-36, while the Tigers also held the assists advantage, 17-14. The Tigers also had more steals, 7-4.
