Harmon Scores 32, Tigers 100 to Celebrate 100 Years of Davis-Reid Alumni Gym
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 18 Georgetown College men's basketball team (17-5, 3-3 MSC) got to .500 in MSC play with a 100-62 win over Bethel University (16-6, 2-4 MSC) as Davis-Reid Alumni Gym celebrated its 100th year anniversary on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a slow start, which saw just three Georgetown points in the opening two minutes, the Tigers poured it on over the next three plus. Isaiah Mason's 3-pointer at the 15:00 mark capped a 9-2 run for the Tigers, who commanded a 12-4 lead at the opening media timeout. Over the next five minutes, the Wildcats had trimmed the Georgetown lead by just two as the Tigers owned a 17-11 lead halfway through the half. Zion Harmon's 15-point half was ignited in the final 10 minutes. The junior had 10 points in the span, including five quick points to end the half. Harmon connected for a layup with 36 seconds to play before sinking a 3-pointer to make it a 48-31 game at the half.
After scoring 48 first-half points, the Tigers collected 52 in the second half by shooting more efficiently. Harmon added 17 points in the half for Georgetown, who sank 5-of-10 from deep in the half. A 6-2 run opened the half for the Tigers as Georgetown enjoyed a comfortable 20-point lead for much of the half. Down the stretch, the Tigers' collective sharp shooting poured things on the Wildcats as Chance Dillingham's five points in the closing minute of the game pushed the score to 100-62.
THE TEAM
Georgetown shot 52.8% from the field. The Tigers were 11-24 (45.8%) from deep and shot 13-21 (61.9%) at the free-throw line. BU won the rebounding battle 42-40, while the Tigers held the assists advantage, 13-7. GC produced 16 steals to BU's 11.
THE PLAYERS
* Zion Harmon scored a career-high 32 points with four steals and three assists.
* Aden Nyekan added 17 points and had seven rebounds.
* Isaiah Mason finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.

The Tigers take on Lindsey Wilson (15-6, 4-2 MSC) on Monday, February 2.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. against the Blue Raiders in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym, as is the makeup game from the originally scheduled meeting on January 24.
