Georgetown Named Host Site for NAIA 1st and 2nd Rounds

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA National Office announced its 16 host locations for the 2026 NAIA men's basketball National Championships on Monday, with the Georgetown College men's basketball team being selected as one of the opening round sites.

The full field of 64, including who will be sent to Georgetown, will be revealed on Thursday, March 5, on the official NAIA YouTube page.

In total, three Mid-South Conference members will host the men's national tournament opening rounds. Cumberlands, along with Freed-Hardeman, play host in addition to Georgetown.

Friends (KS) is the lone school to host both the men's and women's opening rounds in addition to Freed-Hardeman and Georgetown from the Mid-South Conference.

Four games (two women's, two men's) will take place on Friday, March 13, with the winners advancing to the round of 32 on Saturday.

Official tip-off times and ticket information will be announced at a later date.

Georgetown finished the regular season 22-6 and with a No. 14 ranking in the final top-25 poll. The Tigers ended the season number three in RPI. This selection is the 45th appearance for the men's team since the NAIA men's basketball tournament inception in 1937. The Georgetown men have been named a host site in three of the last four years, most recently advancing all the way to the quarterfinals of last year's tournament. The Tigers made the Fab Four in 2023.
