Music City Collegiate Ends with Tigers in 15th

DICKSON, Tenn. – The Georgetown College men's golf team finished 15th at the Music City Collegiate hosted by Cumberland at the Greystone Golf Course on Tuesday.

The originially scheduled 72-hole tournament was shortened after the second round due to inclement rain and weather in Dickson on Tuesday.

Laine Schulten and Carter Zutterman both led the Tigers a total of 144. Zutterman shot a 74-69=144 while Schulten produced a 70-74=144. Both finished in the top-30 in a tie for 29th.

LAINE SCHULTEN

Schulten shot a two-under 70 in the first round. He carded six, including four on the way in. In the second round, he collected two more birdies and finished with a two-over 74. 

CARTER ZUTTERMAN

Zutterman collected a three-over 75 in the opening round, highlighted by a trio of birdies. In the second round, he added sixed birdies and shot a three-under 69, the lowest round of the tournament for a Tiger. 

CHRISTIAN CLEMENTS

On day one, Clements collected two birdies on the back-9 to help him to a three-over 75. On day two, Clements shot just one-over with back-to-back birdies on holes 12 and 13. He was even on the front-9 with a birdie on five.

MACK KING

King produced a 75 in the opening round behind an eagle on 12 and one birdie. The eagle helped him get below par until his bogey on 14. On day two, King produced one more birdie and shot a four-over 76.

EVAN COFFEY

In the opening round, Coffey collected birdies on holes 10 and 14 before turning in a card of 77. He shot even on the back-9. For round two, Coffey had three more birdies and shot a 75 on the round.

UP NEXT

The Tigers have just three days off before jumping back onto the course when they participate in the Crimson Classic. The IU Kokomo hosted event is set for October 11-12 at the Wildcat Cree Golf Course.
