Tigers Come up Just Short Against Bears

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College men's soccer team (1-3-1) took another loss to Shawnee State (3-1-1) at Toyota Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

THE MATCH 

A back and forth physical first half was highlighted by a Shawnee State goal in the 41st minute. After a deflected shot inside the box, Theo Trindade poked a ball past Tiger keeper Lukas Steiner to give the visitors a 1-0 lead just minutes before the halftime whistle.

In the second half, Shawnee State doubled its lead behind an Alex Kennedy strike in the 71st minute but the Tigers weren't going away. Reid Schulten connected for his first goal of the season with a hit in the 85th minute. Schulten's goal was assisted by Frederik Pederson. Pederson had one more quality look in the closing minutes but the Tigers could not find the equalizer.
 
UP NEXT
The Tigers have the entire week off next week before taking the pitch again on Tuesday, September 16 against Lindsey Wilson University (3-0-1). Kickoff with the Blue Raiders is set for 8:00 p.m. to begin Mid-South Conference play.
