GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College men's soccer team (2-7-1, 0-4 MSC) lost 3-1 to Campbellsville University (6-5-0, 2-2 MSC) at Finley Stadium on Tuesday night.
THE MATCH
Despite playing fairly even for the first half hour, the match changed in the 37th minute. An own goal gave Campbellsville the lead which it quickly doubled. Just a few minutes later, in the 40th, the CU Tigers doubled up Georgetown with its first goal of the evening. Georgetown registered just three first half shots and did not break through until the second half.
In the 65th minute the Campbellsville lead shrunk in half when Ethan Powell sunk a ball into the back of the net. The goal was Powell's first of the season and gave the Tigers life. Georgetown took two more shots in the half before the 85th minute saw the CU Tigers put things out of reach with its final goal of the night.
