No. 18 Bethel Take Down Tigers on Senior Day

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College men's soccer team (2-8-1, 0-5 MSC) fell 5-0 to #18 Bethel University (8-0-2, 3-0-1 MSC) on Senior Day at Toyota Stadium on Friday night.

THE MATCH
From the early goings, the Tigers seemingly made crisp passes and were finishing their touches. Georgetown registered just two shots in the opening half hour, but was already facing a 1-0 deficit. Bethel opened the scoring with a goal in the 30th minute when Gregory Cousins struck. Bethel steadily gained more possession and opportunities as the half wound down, resulting in a goal just before halftime. Souleymane Balde put a ball in the back of the net at 44:37 to give Bethel the 2-0 advantage.

The second half brought three goals for the Wildcats. First, in the 53rd minute, Stanley Grand-Pierre got in the book with a goal, and just over five minutes later, Balde had bagged a brace for the night with a strike in the 59th minute. Cousins went on to cap the match at 5-0 with his second goal of the night at 66:23.
