Pendleton wins Lee University Invite; Tigers hit 5 PR's
After an All-American indoor season, Wilson Pendleton kicked off Georgetown's outdoor season with a win in the shot put. The senior threw for a distance of 16.58m (54 feet, 4.75 inches) to take the win and eclipse the NAIA "B" standard in the process.
On top of Pendleton's win, Georgetown had 5 other athletes set new PR's in various events. Elijah Walters set a new personal best in the 3K Steeple with a time of 9:38.44 and brought home a 5th place finish. Bryant Curtis also set a PR in the 5K run with a time of 16:38.87.
The Tigers set 3 new personal bests in the 800m race. Justin Bynum led the way with a time of 1:59.86. Layne Clark set a new best with a run of 2:07.88. Josiah McMahan also has a new PR of 2:21.21.
Georgetown will look to carry the momentum of the season opener into its next event: the Raider Rumble, at Lindsey Wilson on Friday, March 28th.
