Pendleton picks up another win on Day 1 of Gordon Bocock Invite

Wilson Pendleton picked up another event win on Friday as he took home 1st place in the discus on day 1 of the Gordon Bocock Invite, hosted by Cumberlands.

Pendleton's best distance of 43.90m was good enough to take home the top spot. He also competed in the javelin throw, placing 6th with a distance of 29.67m. Pendleton is scheduled to throw in the shot put on day 2 of the event at 10:00am Saturday. Richard Harris also competed in the discus, coming home in 14th with a best of 19.15m.

On the track, Elijah Walters brought home a podium finish, placing 3rd in the 5K race with a time of 15:40.42. Bryant Curtis came home 6th in the same event with a time of 16:33.13.

The Tigers had 4 runners place in the top 20 of the 1500m run. Justin Bynum was first across with a time of 4:22.48 to place 12th overall. Riley Morris placed 15th with a time of 4:26.31. Layne Clark and Josiah McMahan finished 18th and 20th, respectively.

Georgetown will be back on day 2 of the meet starting Saturday at 10:00am.
