(RV) Tigers Fall to #7 Campbellsville and #17 Lindsey Wilson at Home

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College men's wrestling team hosted a Mid-South Conference double dual on Friday night, falling 26-24 to #7 Campbellsville and 23-16 to #17 Lindsey Wilson in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

In the first dual versus Campbellsville, Wyatt Payne set the tone early. In the end, he willed out an 8-6 decision to give the Tigers a quick 3-0 lead. Leland Reeves followed suit. Reeves, facing off against #9 Izaeah Beavers, also picked up a decision (4-1) to help Georgetown to a 6-0 lead.
 
The next five matches, all featuring top-15 ranked wrestlers for Campbellsville, went to the visitors. Cofy Walls and Josh Sharron were defeated by a major decision, while Ethan Kessinger, Chaz Rich and Keenan Shively were by fall.

The final three matches Campbellsville forfeited as it had already secured enough points for the 26-24 victory.

The second dual against Lindsey Wilson saw a similar start for Georgetown. Wyatt Payne picked a clutch 15-8 decision to open things up followed by a close 3-0 decision won by Leland Reeves. Cofy Walls went down via a major decision before the Tigers rebounded with a Josh Sharron decision. The Blue Raiders secured the next four bouts before Marcus James took the mat for the first time on the evening. James, the 17th-ranked wrestler in 197, won via major decision before Luke Cox grinded out another decision in the heavyweight class, but it was not enough as Georgetown fell,  23-16.
