No. 23 Tigers Take Down Midway In Regular Season Finale

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 23 Georgetown College men's wrestling team picked up a Mid-South Conference win 34-15 over Midway University in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym on Tuesday afternoon.

Wyatt Payne and #18 Leland Reeves began the afternoon with a pair of 10-7 decisions for Georgetown, who quickly raced out to a 6-0 lead.

At 141, Cofy Walls stepped in and won via fall in just over a minute, making it a 12-0 match. After a forfeit pushed things to 18-0 at 149, the Tigers dropped the following three rounds, two via falls and one via decision.

As things shifted to the heavier classes, Georgetown found its form once again. #8 Navarro Nanpuya defeated Sebastian Hutchinson in just under four minutes to make it 24-15. #13 Marcus James earned five points off the tech fall, 17-0. Finally, #19 Luke Cox finished the afternoon with another win in the heavyweights. He took down Anthony Popi also via tech fall, 22-7 in 7:00.
