HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tigers' offense was clicking early as Daisy Gale and Kayra Freeman scored seven first-quarter points to nearly outscore the Patriots by themselves. By the media timeout, Georgetown had opened up a 16-9 advantage and held a 21-16 lead after the opening 10 minutes.

Georgetown's offense stalled in the second quarter, combining for just 10 points, all from Gale and Freeman. Cumberlands sank seven shots and boosted its way back into things with a 17-point frame. The Tigers led by just one at 25-24 at the media timeout, and the Patriots hit a shot just before the buzzer to take a 33-31 lead into the locker room.

In the third, Georgetown hit nearly half of the shots it took to once again establish control. Daysha Reid hit two 3-pointers and finished with eight points for Georgetown in the third, who took a 52-44 lead after Gale hit a basket to close the frame.

The Tigers scored the first four points of the fourth to force a quick Cumberlands timeout. Georgetown's damage had been done, though, as the Tigers outscored the Patriots by seven in the fourth to hold on for the 72-57 win.
