Georgetown Selected to Host NAIA 1st and 2nd Rounds

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA National Office announced its 16 host locations for the 2026 NAIA women's basketball National Championships on Monday, with the Georgetown College women's basketball team being selected as one of the opening round sites.

The full field of 64, including who will be sent to Georgetown, will be revealed on Thursday, March 5, on the official NAIA YouTube page.

Bethel, Campbellsville, and Freed-Hardeman join Georgetown as hosts for the women's first and second rounds.

Friends (KS) is the lone school to host both the men's and women's opening rounds in addition to Freed-Hardeman and Georgetown from the Mid-South Conference.

Four games (two women's, two men's) will take place on Friday, March 13, with the winners advancing to the round of 32 on Saturday.

Official tip-off times and ticket information will be announced at a later date.

Georgetown finished the regular season 21-7 and was receiving votes, just outside the top-25 nationally, in the final top-25 poll. The Tigers closed the season at number 14 in the RPI. This selection is the 20th appearance for the women's team since the NAIA women's basketball tournament's inception in 1981. After a pair of wins in Montana last season, the Georgetown women advanced to the tournament's third round, just missing their fifth-ever trip to the quarterfinals. Georgetown last played in the quarterfinals in 2012, the year in which it played in its only Fab Four.
