(RV) Tigers Drop Home Game to No. 9 Spartans
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The (RV) Georgetown College women's lacrosse team (2-7, 1-0 AAC) lost 15-8 to No. 9 Missouri Baptist (5-3, 0-0 HAAC) at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After going down a pair of goals in the first quarter, the Tigers rallied to score the final four goals of the first. First, at the 6:07 mark was Hailey Voss who scored an unassisted goal. Two minutes later Madison Diaz found the back of the net to level things at 2-2. With just over two minutes to play, the Tigers doubled their lead when Avery McAlister scored the go-ahead goal off a pass from Vanessa Owens. On the very next possession, some 16 seconds later, Hailey Voss scored again to make it 4-2 Georgetown. She was assisted by Madison Diaz.
Missouri Baptist struck seven times in the second quarter, and all unanswered as the visitors grew a 9-4 lead. With just under a minute and a half to play in the half, though, Georgetown fought back. Hailey Voss scored off a free position shot before Hannah Voss scored just before the break to make it a 9-6 game.
The only three goals of the third quarter belonged to the Spartans as the visitors took a 12-6 advantage into the fourth.
Hailey Voss opened the scoring in the fourth with a free position goal at the 12:07 mark. Both sides dug in defensively from there as the next strike was from MBU with under five minutes to play. Vanessa Owens got a goal with 4:07 to play, but it was the final goal of the day for the Tigers, who fell, 15-8.
THE TEAM
Georgetown had 28 shots while MBU had 32. The Tigers held a 13-9 advantage in draw controls. The Tigers collected 13 ground balls and made nine saves.

The Tigers hit the road to take on Montreat (3-4, 0-1 AAC) on Saturday, March 21.
