(RV) Tigers Take Down Bears, 24-4
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The (RV) Georgetown College women's lacrosse team (4-7, 3-0 AAC) got a huge 24-4 AAC win over Truett-McConnell University (2-7, 1-3 AAC) at Toyota Stadium on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Playing down one the entire game did not stop the Tigers from jumping out to a 5-0 lead through the first part of the opening quarter. Hailey Voss notched the first three goals for Georgetown and had the responding goal after the Bears scored at the 5:23 mark to complete a five-goal quarter. The Tigers took a 6-2 lead into the second period.
The second quarter featured nine Georgetown goals from six different goal scorers. Once again, the first five goals of the period were Tigers as Vanessa Owens, Madison Diaz, Lindsey Maynard, and Avery McAlister all etched their names in the scoresheet. After the Bears tacked on a goal midway through the second, Georgetown continued to execute its pace and pressure, scoring four more goals to lead 15-3 at the break.
The third quarter was the lowest scoring frame for either side, as just three Georgetown goals passed by the goalie. Maynard completed the hat trick in the opening stages of the period before Maggie Byrd and Madison Diaz both struck within a minute of one another with just under five minutes to play.
In the fourth, Georgetown stretched its lead even further and ended up winning the game 24-4 when it capitalized once again on a six-goal period.
THE TEAM
Georgetown had 38 shots while TMU had 21. The Tigers held a 17-12 advantage in draw controls. The Tigers collected 15 ground balls and made eight saves.

* Hailey Voss scored six goals off seven shots and had two assists. She had one draw control.

The Tigers hit the road for the final time in the regular season to take on No. 4 Reinhardt (8-1, 3-0 AAC) on Saturday, April 4.
First draw is set for 1:00 p.m. against the Eagles at Ken White Field.
