#7 Running Eagles Take Down (RV) Tigers

MARIETTA, Ga. – The (RV) Georgetown College women's lacrosse team (4-9, 3-1 AAC) lost 22-9 on the road to No. 7 Life University (5-6, 1-1 SUN) at Lupo Family Field on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening period presented many challenges and back-and-forth play as the Tigers scored three of the opening five goals to lead in the first 10-plus minutes of action. In a nearly two-minute span, though, the Running Eagles rattled off three straight goals to lead 5-4. With 2:49 to play, Hailey Voss scored the first of her game-high four goals to pull Georgetown back within one, but Life poked one final goal through with just under a minute to play to establish a two-goal lead after the first.

Georgetown was shut out in the second period, allowing eight goals in throughout the period to face a 14-4 halftime deficit.

A free position goal opened the scoring in the third for the Running Eagles before Voss struck for the Tigers at the 7:44 mark. It was Voss' second of the day and the Tigers' only of the third period as Georgetown trailed 19-5 through three periods.

Destini Gomez and Madison Diaz both scored unassisted goals to start the fourth period before Hailey Voss struck back-to-back times to make it a 20-9 game with just over three and a half minutes to play. From there, Life rattled home two more goals for the 22-9 win.
