Madison Diaz, Maggie Byrd Named NAIA All-Americans
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Georgetown College women's lacrosse seniors Madison Diaz and Maggie Byrd have been named NAIA All-Americans, as announced by the national office on Sunday.
Diaz was selected to the second team, while Byrd was named to the third team for the second consecutive season.
Madison Diaz completes her career as a Tiger as a three-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete as well as a three-time Appalachian Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference award winner. Diaz scored 36 goals and added 17 assists this season with 117 draw controls and 25 caused turnovers.
Diaz was named NAIA Defensive Player of the Week in addition to AAC Defensive Player of the Week for March 30 after helping defeat Truett-McConnell 24-4. In that game, she had 16 draw controls with three ground balls while scoring four goals and adding two assists.

Maggie Byrd finishes her Tiger career leading the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference in caused turnovers and ground balls.
The Evansville, Indiana, native created 40 turnovers this season and scooped up 57 ground balls on the year.
For her career, she ranks third all-time in Georgetown history with 100 caused turnovers and tied for second all-time in ground balls with 168.
Byrd claimed First Team All-Conference honors in the AAC this season as well.
